Alabama Audubon Coastal Gosse Nature Walk: Daphne—Bayfront Park
March 4 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
March 4 , 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Pre-registration is requested for planning purposes by 12 p.m. CST on Thursday, March 3rd.
Join us for our first-ever coastal Gosse Nature Walk in Daphne at Bayfront Park! This is one of our Audubon Coastal Bird Survey (ACBS) routes, and the trail encompasses coastal beach habitat, some marsh, as well as the upland forested area. The park consists of multiple boardwalks and a couple of piers that we can easily access for looking out over the bay. Open to all!
The details: Meetup will be at the lower parking lot at 6200 Bayfront Park Drive, Daphne, where the coastal trail starts.
As always, remember to bring water and snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire. If you have your own binoculars, you’ll definitely want to bring them along—we’ll have a limited number of loaners on hand.
In the case of inclement weather, the event may be cancelled. You may contact the trip leader the morning of the event if the weather is questionable.
Registration: To register, click on the button above. If you’re new to our online system and don’t yet have a username and password, simply click the “X” on the pop up and fill out the basic form. If you do have a login, please use it as this helps us tremendously on our end! You should receive an automated email upon registering.
Accessibility: The walk will be just a little over a mile with mostly flat terrain, consisting of some boardwalk, some forested dirt path, and some beach with sand. There are bathrooms available at the park and a couple of picnic tables and benches.
(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs.)
