Audubon Gosse Nature Walk #19: Red Mountain Park
January 4, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Our nineteenth Gosse Nature Walk takes us to Red Mountain Park, Birmingham’s largest urban green space and a must-visit site for outdoors explorers of all stripes. Special guest Rachel Ahrnsen, Red Mountain’s Director of Natural Resources, joins us to provide an insider’s look at life on the mountain, and to help us visualize one of the South’s great, post-industrial ecological recoveries.
The details: Meet up is at noon in the Red Mountain parking lot, located at the intersection of Frankfurt Drive and Lyon Lane (2011 Frankfurt Drive, Birmingham). As always, remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs. Also note: Red Mountain Park has gone to great efforts to make their park accessible to people with disabilities, making this Gosse Nature Walk a good fit for people using wheelchairs.)
Trip leader: Birmingham Audubon Outreach & Communications Director Sarah Randolph co-leads this trip with Red Mountain’s Rachel Ahrnsen. For more information, email Sarah, or call 205-719-3678, ext. 3.
