Eagle Awareness Weekends

An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Friday, repeating until February 17, 2019

Lake Guntersville State Park is preparing for it’s 34th year of Eagle Awareness Weekends. These events will begin on January 25-27th, 2019 and continue for three consecutive weekends.
Scheduled programs and presenters will include (subject to change)
Jan. 25-27th-(Reservation Code 7448) Carnivorous Plants of Alabama with Brittney Hughes; Birds of Prey with David Haggard; Whooping Cranes with Shelly Taliaferro; and Birds of Prey with the Alabama Wildlife Center
Feb. 1st-3rd– (Reservation Code 7449) Migratory Birds with Big Dave Holloway; the 2019 Eagle Awards Ceremony; Birds of Prey with Auburn’s Southeastern Raptor Center; and Birds of Prey with the Alabama Wildlife Center
Feb. 8th-10th-(Reservation Code 7450) Eagles of Elk River with Photographer Rocky Baker; Birds of Prey with Wings to SOAR, Animals and Birds with Bob Tarter of NHECM; and Birds of Prey with the Alabama Wildlife Center
Feb 15th-17th-(Reservation Code 7451) Alabama Reptiles with George Cline; Birds of Prey with Wings to SOAR; Birds of Prey with RISE Raptor, Inc; and Birds of Prey with the Alabama Wildlife Center
Included in these weekend activities are morning and evening Eagle Watches in the Park and Guided and Self-Guided field trips to local birding hotspots and scenery.
Overnight reservations for LGSP start at $160 for 2 nights and 2 people at the Lodge, camping is $45 for two nights full hookup.
