Oak Mountain Owl Prowl
April 22, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Oak Mountain Interpretive Center is proud to announce the date of an event that we will co-host with the Alabama Wildlife Center at Oak Mountain State Park on Friday April 22. It will be an evening “Owl Prowl”. The event will begin at the Alabama Wildlife Center at 7:00 P.M. on April 22nd which is also Earth Day.
We will gather for light refreshments and an encounter with a couple of the captive owls at the center. At dusk we will attempt to call up barred owls that live in the vicinity of the Wildlife Center and the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center. We will then travel a short distance in the park to try to call some Screech Owls and a third stop for Great Horned Owls. The event will conclude by 10:00 P.M.
We want to thank Mr. Greg Harber for agreeing to help us with the Owl Prowl. For those of you that do not know Greg, he is an expert birder. His involvement will increase our chances of success on this evening of fun. The event is free with park admission. Please mark your calendars so that you do not miss joining us on this fun nature encounter!
